Plain-language terms
Terms of Use
Last updated: August 17, 2026
This is the agreement between you and Grow Love. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If a sentence here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it in plain words.
The short version
- Everything you create in Grow Love belongs to you. We claim no rights over it and we do not read it.
- Grow Love is free to download. An optional subscription called Grow Love PRO unlocks extras.
- Apple takes the payment and handles refunds. We cannot charge you or refund you directly.
- The app is a keepsake, not a therapist, and not a backup service. Keep your device backups on.
- Use it for your own relationship. Do not use it to harm anyone or to reach another couple's data.
Who we are
Grow Love is made and operated by Uladzislau Kashayed, a sole proprietor based in Belarus, trading as Grow Love. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Grow Love" mean that person. You can reach us at [email protected], and we will give a postal address on request.
"The app" means the Grow Love iOS application and its home screen widgets. "The site" means growloveapp.com. "The services" means both.
Accepting these terms
By downloading or using the app, or by using the site, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the services. Nothing here takes away rights that the consumer law of your own country gives you and cannot be waived by agreement.
Who can use Grow Love
Grow Love is built for adults in a relationship. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. If you are between 13 and 17, you may use it only with the permission of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf. If you are under 13, please do not use Grow Love, and if we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will remove it.
You also confirm that you are allowed to use the device you install the app on, and that you will keep your invite code to yourself. Anyone holding your invite code can join your pair.
What Grow Love is, and what it is not
Grow Love is a private keepsake for two people: a day counter, a tree that grows with your days, letters, time capsules, questions, a diary, memories and small games. It is entertainment and memory keeping.
It is not therapy, counselling, or medical, psychological or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. The questions, prompts and date ideas in the app are written to start conversations, not to diagnose anything or to tell you what to do about your relationship. If you are in distress or in danger, please contact a professional or your local emergency services.
Grow Love is also not a secure vault or an archival service. Do not use it to store documents you cannot afford to lose, passwords, medical records or anything you would need to recover after losing your phone.
Your account and your pair
You can use most of Grow Love without any account at all. When you ask for an invite code, an anonymous account is created for you so that two devices can find each other. You may later attach that account to your Apple ID with Sign in with Apple so that a lost or replaced phone does not cost you your pair.
Once you are paired, the content you send reaches your partner, and your partner keeps their copy of what you sent. Think of a letter: after it arrives you cannot un-send it. If you reset your relationship, sharing stops and your side is erased, but the copies already delivered to your partner's device remain theirs.
You are responsible for what happens through your device and your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you believe someone reached your pair without your permission.
Your content stays yours
Letters, capsules, answers, diary entries, photos, wishes and everything else you create in Grow Love belong to you. We claim no ownership of it and we do not read it.
To make shared features work at all, you give us a narrow permission: to store your content and to transmit it to the partner you chose, using the service providers listed in the Privacy Policy. That permission exists only to deliver the app to the two of you. It is not a licence to publish your content, to show it to anyone else, to train anything on it, or to use it in marketing. It ends when the content is deleted.
If you send us feedback or a feature idea, we may act on it without owing you anything for it. That is not a claim on the content inside your app, only on the suggestion you chose to send us.
Fair use
Use Grow Love for your own relationship. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, impersonate or abuse anyone through it, including your partner;
- send content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that sexualises a minor;
- attempt to reach another couple's data, another account, or any part of our systems you were not given;
- probe, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the services, or work around limits and security measures;
- resell the app, rent out access, or use it to run a business or a service for other people.
Grow Love has no public feed, no strangers and no discovery. There is nowhere in it to broadcast anything, and we would like to keep it that way.
What is free and what is paid
Grow Love is free to download, and the heart of it is free to use: your day counter, your tree, letters, capsules, the daily question, the diary, memories, widgets and both visual themes.
Grow Love PRO is an optional subscription that unlocks extras, currently additional tree species, the full question bank, and higher limits on diary entries and memories. Which extras belong to PRO can change as the app grows, and we may add or move features between free and PRO. What we will not do is take away content you already created: if a limit changes, what you already wrote stays yours and stays readable.
Subscriptions, billing and auto renewal
Grow Love PRO is sold through the App Store as an auto renewing subscription. Two plans are offered: a yearly plan, which begins with a free trial period, and a weekly plan. The exact price, period and trial length are shown in the app in your local currency before you confirm anything, and the price shown at that moment is the price that applies.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before that period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the new period begins.
- You manage and cancel it in your own App Store settings, under Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- A free trial converts into a paid period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you buy the subscription while a trial is still running, the remaining free time is given up. Any unused part of a free trial is also given up if you buy a subscription of the same kind elsewhere in Apple's terms.
- Only one active subscription is needed per person. PRO applies to the Apple ID that bought it.
- You can restore an earlier purchase on a new device with Restore Purchases on the paywall screen.
- If we ever change the price of an existing subscription, Apple will ask for your agreement before charging the new price, and you can decline by cancelling.
Refunds
Apple is the seller of record for every purchase made in the app, so refunds are handled by Apple and not by us. Ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com, or through Apple Support. We cannot see your payment details and we cannot issue a refund ourselves, however much we might want to help.
If the consumer law where you live gives you a right of withdrawal or a statutory refund right, that right still applies, and we will help you take it to Apple.
Availability, sync and changes to the app
The services are provided as they are, and as they happen to be available. Grow Love works offline for everything that lives on your device, but partner sync needs a working internet connection and depends on services we do not control, so we cannot promise it is available at every moment or that a delivery is instant.
We may change, add or retire features, and we may stop supporting older versions of iOS. If a change is significant, we will say so in the app or on this site. We will not pretend a feature is a promise: a roadmap is not a term of this agreement.
Backups are on you
Most of your Grow Love data lives on your device. Keep your iPhone and iCloud backups enabled. We cannot restore a relationship you deleted, a diary you erased, or a phone you lost, because in the ordinary case we never had a copy to restore.
Ending it
You can stop using Grow Love at any time. Reset relationship in Account erases your side, deleting your account removes the account record, and deleting the app removes the local data with it. All three are permanent.
We may suspend or end access if the app is being used to abuse someone, to break the law, or to attack our systems or another couple's data. Where it is reasonable to warn you first, we will. Ending access does not entitle you to a refund of a period already paid, except where the law says otherwise.
Services we rely on
Grow Love is a small operation standing on other people's infrastructure: Apple for the App Store, payments and Sign in with Apple, Google Firebase for the account and for partner sync, Adapty for subscription handling, and Cloudflare for this site. Their own terms and policies apply to their parts, and we are not responsible for what they do inside their own services. What data goes where is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the services come without warranties of any kind, including any implied warranty that they are fit for a particular purpose, uninterrupted, error free, or that content will never be lost. We do not warrant that the app will improve your relationship. That part is your work, and we hope it goes beautifully.
Some countries do not allow certain warranties to be excluded. Where that is the case, the exclusions above do not apply to you, and you keep the protections your law gives you.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost content or lost profits, or for loss caused by something outside our reasonable control. For everything else taken together, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the services in the twelve months before the claim arose, or fifty United States dollars.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
Misuse of the services
If a third party brings a claim against us because of how you used Grow Love, in particular because of content you sent or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result from it. This does not apply to claims caused by our own acts, and it does not apply where the law does not allow such a term.
If something goes wrong between us
Write to [email protected] first and describe the problem. We commit to reading it and answering, and to trying for at least 30 days to resolve it directly. Most things end there.
If it cannot be resolved that way, you keep every right your own consumer law gives you, including the right to bring a claim before the courts of the country where you live and to complain to your local consumer authority. We are not asking you to waive a class action, to accept mandatory arbitration, or to travel to another country to be heard.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and the previous version stops applying from that date. For a significant change we will point it out in the app or on this site rather than hope you notice. Continuing to use Grow Love after a change means you accept the new version. If you do not accept it, stop using the services and cancel any subscription.
Terms required by the App Store
Because Grow Love is distributed through the App Store, Apple requires a few specific points, and they are true:
- This agreement is between you and us only. Apple is not a party to it.
- Grow Love is licensed to you, not sold. The licence is personal, non transferable, and limited to Apple branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- We alone are responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it.
- If the app fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price. Beyond that refund, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app, and any other claim, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty is our responsibility.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim about the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal requirement, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating and settling any third party claim that the app infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any applicable third party terms of agreement when using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
The rest of the fine print
If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force and that part is read as narrowly as needed to make it valid. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else. We may transfer ours if Grow Love is ever sold or reorganised, and in that case your rights and the Privacy Policy travel with it.
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Grow Love, and they replace anything said earlier. Section headings are there to help you read, not to change meaning.
